Announcements for October, 2009

  • Wednesday Nights @HWPC: Every Wednesday in October will include our regular Wednesday night activities, which include a WIC prayer meeting, fellowship supper, and adult Bible study. Join us if you are able!
  • Sunday School: If you haven't been to Sunday School in a while, we've made some recent changes that may be of interest to you! There have been some adjustments to our children's classes, and the adult class is now studying the book of Ephesians, with discussion led by Ruling Elder Lou Cardamone. Come join us!
  • Presbytery: Pastor Ed will attend the regular meeting of our Presbytery on Tuesday, October 6th. Please be in prayer for the Presbytery as they attend to the care, oversight, and business of this regional portion of our denomination.
  • Work Day: a work day has been tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 10th, at 9am. Thanks in advance for your help!
  • October Carry-In: The "Carry-In" Lunch for October will be on Sunday, Oct. 11th, immediately after worship. If you are able, please plan to join us for this fellowship and food!
    • WIC Meeting: the regular meeting of the Women in the Church (WIC) will be on Tuesday, Oct. 13th, at 7pm in the Parlor. The WIC continues to study Esther: a woman of strength and dignity by Charles R. Swindoll.
    • Evensong: We will continue “experimenting” with an evening worship service with TWO in October: on the 1st and 3rd Sundays, 10/4 and 10/18. The service will begin at 7pm, and will be casual in dress. Come join us if you are able!
  • Session Meeting: The Session will have it's stated meeting for October on Tuesday, October 20th, at 7pm in the Parlor. If you are interested in joining with our congregation in membership, please plan to attend this meeting to offer a profession of faith to the Elders.
  • Communion Sunday: We will celebrate the family meal of Christ, the sacrament of Communion, together on Sunday, October 25th.
  • Spiritual Life Conference: On October 23-25, we will host a Spiritual Life Conference, focusing on the spiritual discipline of prayer. Our speaker will be Prof. Jerram Barrs of Covenant Seminary. For more information, visit: slc.hickorywithepc.org.
