Bible Drive: Do you have extra Bibles? Do you have Bibles in versions that you don't use, or ones that are worn out? We're collecting Bibles to send overseas for use in missions. See Ann Williams for details.

Prayer Requests: Your Pastors and Elders consider it their privilege to pray for you; if there is some particular need or item for prayer in your life, please share it with one of the Pastors or Elders. They will be glad to pray with and for you.

Wednesday Nights @ HWPC: Do you know that we meet for activities on Wednesday nights? We have a meal at 6:15 and Bible study at 7pm. Come join us this Wednesday!

Holy Week Schedule:

3/31--Wednesdays @ HWPC: We will follow our normal schedule and meet for dinner at 6:15 with our study to follow at 7:00.

4/1--Maundy Thursday: There will be a joint Worship service at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church of Cordova at 7:00.

4/3--Community Easter Egg Hunt: Please invite your friends and neighbors to this fun time at 10 am on the church grounds

4/4--Easter Sunday: Our Sunrise Service will begin at 6:30 with our Pancake Breakfast following. There will be no Sunday School. We will also worship the Lord at 11 am. Please join us for one or both services.

Announcements for Week of March 21, 2010

Communion: We will celebrate together in the sacrament of Communion next Sunday during morning worship.

Book Table: New titles have been added to our book table, which is in the hallway of the Education Wing. Check out these great books to build up your faith!

Announcements for Week of February 14, 2010

It is going to be busy this week at HWPC. Here is what is happening:

Monday Night: There will be a Women's meeting at 7:00 in the Fireside Parlor. We will begin discussion of the book, Transforming Grace and we will work on planning details for upcoming events. All women are encouraged to attend.

Tuesday Night: The Session will have its stated meeting at 7:00 in the Fireside Parlor. Anyone who would like to unite with our congregation in membership should plan to attend.

Wednesdays @ HWPC: This week we will welcome our missionaries Dan and Becky Young. They will join us for dinner at 6:15 and update us on their border ministry during the 7:00 hour.

Saturday Morning: We will host our annual Community Pancake Breakfast beginning at 7:00. Please invite your friends and neighbors and help us eat some yummy pancakes.

Sunday Evening: Although this carries over into next week, don't forget to mark your calendar for the Installation of Doug Barcroft as our new Assistant Pastor. The worship service will be Sunday evening at 6:00 pm.

Announcements for Week of January 24, 2010

*Wednesday Nights @ HWPC: our regular Wednesday night activities have resumed. Join us for a fellowship supper at 6:15 and Bible study at 7pm. We are beginning a new series this week on the elements of worship.

*Congregational Meeting: there will be a congregational meeting next Sunday, January 31st, immediately following worship. The meeting will be for the purpose of information only. Please plan to stay for this important meeting.

*RiverOaks Women's Retreat: RiverOaks Presbyterian Church is including us in their Ladies Retreat this weekend. It begins Friday night and lasts through Saturday. If you are interested in attending, please contact our Women In the Church president, Jane Mitchell.

*Pancake Breakfast: Mark your calendars for February 20th when we will host our community pancake breakfast. More details to come.

Announcements for Week of December 13, 2009

Session Meeting: The Session will meet this Tuesday night, December 15, at 7pm in the Fireside Parlor for its stated meeting. If you would like to unite with our congregation in membership, please plan to meet with the Session to offer a profession of faith.

Wednesday Nights @ HWPC: We will meet this Wednesday for dinner at 6:15 and our study on Methods of Prayer at 7:00. It will be our last meeting until Jan. 20th due to the holiday and other beginning of the year events.

Christmas Party: Jim and Jane Mitchell will be hosting their annual Christmas party on the evening of December 22nd. Plan on enjoying some soup and bring a fun gift that is silly or serious for our game of Dirty Santa. Previous years' gifts have ranged from Christmas decorations and candy to possum cookbooks and rapping teddy bears. Everyone is welcome to come to this time of fun and fellowship.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service: Don't forget to invite your friends and neighbors to our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 5pm on December 24th. The service is casual, and all are welcome.

Sunday, December 27, 2009: This Sunday will be an exciting one in the life of our congregation. This will be Ministry Focus Sunday, so Pastor Ed will introduce our ministry focus for 2010. We will celebrate the sacrament of The Lord's Supper. We will also close our time capsule for the 200th anniversary celebration of the church. Please submit any photos, letters or other artifacts by Saturday, Dec. 26th.
